CRRD Commission will host public forum on Feb. 2

The Coon Rapids Regional Dam Commission will host a public forum on Wednesday, February 2, 2011. The public forum will be held at the Coon Rapids Civic Center,

11155 Robinson Drive

in Coon Rapids, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The 2010 Minnesota Legislature established the Commission to advise the Legislature and the Governor on future options for the Coon Rapids Dam.

The Commission has been working on the issue since September 2010 and is in the process of developing its recommendations. At the public forum, the Commission will review the issue, its work, and the draft recommendations to date. The public will have the opportunity to review and comment on the draft recommendations.

The work of the Commission and their report to the Legislature and Governor is to be completed by March 1, 2011.

Jan. 25 Commission meeting will be held at Coon Rapids City Hall

The next meeting of the Coon Rapids Regional Dam Commission will take place from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011. The meeting will take place in Room CR1 of the Coon Rapids City Hall, 11155 Robinson Drive, Coon Rapids.

Coon Rapids Dam walkway re-opens; pool is lowered to winter level

Repairs at Coon Rapids Dam are complete, the walkway across the Dam has re-opened, and the pool behind the Dam reached its winter elevation on Nov. 22.
